FAQ
What Types of Sedation Dentistry Do You Offer?
We offer a variety of sedation options to ensure that our patients feel comfortable and confident in their decision to use sedation during their dental appointments.
- Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): This mild, fast-acting sedative is inhaled through a mask, providing quick relief from anxiety while keeping you awake and aware. The effects wear off almost immediately, allowing you to drive yourself home and continue with your day without any lingering drowsiness.
- Oral Sedation: A prescribed sedative is taken in pill form before your appointment. Depending on the dosage, you may feel relaxed and at ease but remain awake throughout the procedure. This option is ideal for those who need a little extra help managing dental anxiety.
- IV Sedation: For more complex procedures or patients with severe anxiety, IV sedation offers a deeper level of relaxation. It allows us to adjust the sedation level throughout the treatment to ensure maximum comfort and effectiveness, keeping you calm and at ease during your visit.
- General Anesthesia: Reserved for lengthy or more invasive procedures, or for patients with significant dental phobias, general anesthesia involves a trained, board-certified anesthesiologist to monitor your sedation. Under general anesthesia, you will be completely unconscious, with no memory of the procedure afterward.
Each of these options is carefully tailored to meet the unique needs of our patients, ensuring a calm, stress-free experience from start to finish.
